Sort of a poor man's alternative to replacing a window is to weatherize the original. I saw it done on "this old House". I tried it on my bathroom window, 25 years ago, and it is holding up fine. I put weather stripping around it. In the show they removed it from the sash and put some sort of weather stripping in the channel. Of course you still don't have that thermo pane glass, but mine has no drafte. ---Anthony
