As most people have mention a 50 foot hose serveers for most people. Contrary to some comments a longer hose can reduce the amount of air coming out. Some time ago someone posted a chart for size of pipe for air use depending on the length from the compressor. Turns couplings etc as well as the walls of the pipe set up turbalance in the air flow and restrict. Granted it is not as restrictive as the wrong size of extension cord but there is restriction. Moste people use a 3/8 inch hose with quarter inch fittings and unless you have a high volume need anything up to 100 feet will work for home use. If you want to use an extension cord a number 12 wire is the same size as used in the home for running the circuits so it will work for your compressor. Again depending on the size and amperage draqw of the compressor 75 feet is about the max on a number twelve cord. Want to go further, upsize to a number 10. Hope this helps. Hi all, just purchased an air compressor. It only has a 5 meter length of air hose. The unit has a short electric cord, and they say not to use an extension one. They advise to get a longer air hose. So I need to know how long a hose I can use. Thanks for any advice. Max. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
