Check with your insurance company. Although the metal roof might last 50 years, hail, and debris may dent it up, so it does not look so good. I suggest asking your insurance company, because most will not replace it if it is not punctured all the way through. Dents and such will make it look like crap, and your stuck with them, or fix it out of your own pocket. They might give you a cosmetic check, which means, 'here is some money, sorry your roof now looks like crap but to bad". Now, on the other hand, some insurance companies will offer a discount with going with a metal roof, I guess it depends on your part of the world, and your insurance company. With my steel siding, I would have been S O L, if part of it didn't get torn from the hail. Here, I actually pay more for having steel siding, and if I had steel roofing. Michael _____

I mentioned this to a friend the other day and he asked me if I am planning to live 50 more years. I would like to get your input and logic on one choice over the other if one probably will not live 50 more years. Thanks. Thanks.
