Tom I have that type of saw and I have a technique that works for me. When you loosen the handle there are two parts that you turn one at the top and other at the bottom. These parts have a bout a 3/4" part that sticks out. I first lay the saw on a table and line up the top and bottom with the edge of the table. Then snug the handle but not tighten. I then lay the blade along a piece of wood so I can run my finger along the back of the blade to make sure it is flat to the wood. Then tighten the handle and again check the blade to the wood. It sometimes twists when you tighten the handle. I've also seen coping saws where you can turn both ends of the blade to get at places where the frame gets in the way. However when I've tried this I find it darned difficult to keep the blade straight , same turn at both ends, and that makes a real mess of the work and the blades.
