The first thing they mention in my owners manual is never under any
circumstances attempt to block or elevate the treadmill assembly in any
manner.

Larry, Thanks, I have to take another look at mine. Maybe it would be best
for safety to leave it alone.

Lenny,

I took a very long hard look at my treadmill after reading your post and the
only way you can effectively change the angle of the running surface would
be to full frame the entire unit, with the incline built into the new frame.
Simply blocking one end or the other would create some serious issues with
both the belt drive and incline mechanisms. I have a design banging around
in the empty reaches of my brain. I kind of like the basic idea of
additional incline so if anything materializes I will keep you guys posted.

It is about 5 foot in length. I planned on blocking under the front wheels.

What length is the bed of your tread mill?
That is to say, from its pivot point to the point where you will put the
blocks? Will its framework tolerate external modification?

How do I figure out what angle a 14% grade is on a tread mill? I just had a
stress test and was walking 3.5 mph at 14% incline. My treadmill goes no
where near that. I think I would like to put some blocks under the front to

take it to at least 10%. I did a lot of internet searches and found nothing
that helps.
