You can find the Zircon at the following address for under $40.

I just took it outside, and it's a windy day here and I can hear it just
fine.
When it hits level it gives a continuous sound too, so that makes it more
distinctive.
This level is only about a foot long. I can't say how accuracy is compared
with a long level, but it seems to me to be very precise at the point that
the beep sounds.
Blessings,
Tom

One other question - what is the cost of the Zircon? Can you give me the
model number and or a link to look it up?

  Thanks again,

  Tom

  Tom,

Are the beeps on the Zircon very loud? I have a 10 inch and a 4 foot Sears
digital level and I use them inside only and can barely hear the beeps. If
I were outside, I don't believe I would be able to hear them at all.
Someone early in this thread mentioned the same problem with the Stabila.
So please let me know if the Zircon is loud because I'm not very happy
with
the ones I have because of the loudness.

  Thanks,

  Tom

I have a video Lebel from Zircon that works well for me.
It does have a video display, but also beeps when level or plumb.
After I put a raised dot on the on off button, it works well.
  Blessings,
  Tom

  Hello,
I have been a long time lurker, and have enjoyed many of the adventures
  that
folks have had on this list!
Thanks for many good ideas and laughs!
I am undertaking a masonry project in the next few days, and need to use a
level to get things right. Most times this wouldn't be a problem, as my
wife is sighted, and can usually be enticed to help out.
This time I will be going it alone, and didn't think it was going to be so
difficult to find an audible level. I am totally blind, and knew that some
of the home centers sold one a year or two ago.
Surprise! They don't carry them anymore!
I have googled and found a couple that would fit the bill, and read
  through
the archives on this list (see message below) and read about a couple here
  that I was considering.
Does anyone have a recommendation? I know that Sears had one a while ago,
but they don't seem to carry it anymore either.
I need to obtain it in the next few days, and would like to keep the cost
  down if possible.
Thanks for your help and advice!
  Art
