If you have eyes around, the water and vinegar turn green as the pot is
cleaned. One needs to brew a pot or two of clear water after running a water
vinegar combination. The rinse water, at least the first batch, will also
likely turn green. RD

Since white vinegar is cheaper than bottled water here, I just use
the vinegar as if I were making a pot of coffee. Many years ago, I
actually read the instructions for cleaning my Black'n Decker unit.
It said to fill the pot with vinegar as if making coffee. Run it
through, let stand for 15 minutes, than run clean water through to
remove any residue. Had this coffee maker for 17 years.
