Good thing you don't have a guide dog.  It's hell pulling one off a fire

  I just checked the temperature, minus 28C or minus 18.4F. Well on it's way 
back down to the minus 36.2C or 33F below which it was when I left for work 
this morning. When it is cold like this you can hear cars for a very long way 
making it hard to tell how far down the road they actually are and hard then to 
know when it is appropriate to cross.

  I got lucky this morning though, only walked a couple of blocks when I was 
offered a ride.

  Even so, I was aware of several very nervous brass monkeys.
