Happy days are here again. The drawer is out. I called about a dozen Sears numbers and one young guy mention two styles he had saw. Mine was the cheaper plastic glides on a couple of rollers. Basically there are pieces. The track that stays mounted to the drawer , the track that stays stationary on the cabinet and the third track that moves between them. On this center track there was a slotted hole about quarter inch by half long. When the drawer was pulled almost all the way out a tab came under that slot. By pushing in the tab toward the drawer it allowed the drawer to be pulled forward. Had to do one side at a time and push the released middle rails in out of the way while working on the other side. Didn't want to relock what I had just unlocked. No it did not work easy but it did work. Thanks to all for there input. Ron, Feel down the outside surface of the drawer slide. You should encounter a small spring loaded tab, if memory serves the end of the tab closest to the front of the box can be pried outboard with a common screwdriver, with this tab released gently slide the track *not the drawer* inward as if you were going to close the drawer. You will know if you have it right if the tab stands out about 4mm from its original position. Repeat the procedure on the other side and the drawer should slide out into your hands. I personally have never owned a Craftsman box however I used to have an apprentice who went through your same dilemma a couple of times a week. I did finally make him a fix for that problem so if this occurs regularly let me know and I will post it for you or any other Sears tool box owner. -----Original Message----- From: blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com [mailto:blindhandy...@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Ron Yearns Sent: Thursday, January 01, 2009 8:05 PM To: blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com Subject: [BlindHandyMan] tool cabinet OK help. I have a roll around Sears Craftsman tool cabinet. Steel 4 drawer locking. Here is what has happened. A set of sockets in a plastic case was lain in the bottom drawer on top of some other stuff , somehow in shutting the drawers it slid and is setting vertical behind something else. Anyway the second drawer up will not shut and the bottom is not asseble because the second drawer up is being pulled out with this plastic case. We, myself and sighted wife have looked and can find no latches to free the drawer on top so we could pull it entirely out of the cabinet and fix things. Is there a hidden catch or am I going to have to saw part of the back out of the upper drawer so I can fish my hand down into the other one.
