It's an interesting situation here, cause the Kindle 2 costs $350.00 or so
and thus is price competative with really accessible devices like the Victor
Stream and the newere PlexTalk pocket.
of course those require usb download from a computer, but provide access
to a large variety of books in non-proprietary formats. The kindel is WYFI and
thus
provides instant gratification, or nearly.
Even presuming the Kindle were made entirely accessible via speech,
It may be a tossup which would really provide the best bang for the buck.
And, of course, you pay for each book with the Kindle.

As a total bat, it seems silly to spend lots on the fancy
Kindle display, although if they had large fonts, low vision folks might find
it very helpfull.

A rare situation in which it might turn out that devices made for the bat
market could actually be price competative with "visie' market stuff.
