That's why I said usually.  I knew someone would have a story about the hot 
water going there.  Sometimes you wonder if the lights are really on or if they 
just don't get it... hahaha

  Bob, I can remember a hot water line sent to a humidifier. A couple told me 
they couldn't afford to operate their heat pump for heat. It was just a tiny 
house too. I finally was asked to take a look at it and install a better heat 
pump.
They had a flow thru humidifier that excess water just ran down a drain. It 
turned out they had the water supply connected to the hot water line. I asked 
them who put the humidifier in for them. The gentleman said he did it himself 
to save money. I asked if that was just about the time they couldn't afford to 
heat their house.
I explained that he was heating his water with electric and sending it right 
down the drain with the flow thru humidifier he installed. He said he figured 
it would work better with hot water. I said it does, but you can't afford to 
heat your house now. His water heater must have almost run non-stop when he was 
in heating mode. He really saved a couple of bucks.hahahahaha
