Several years ago I purchased the CCrane FM transmitter. It isn't cheap but it is fairly good. Sometimes I am a little disappointed in the output, while I am told there is a way to pull off an adhesive panel on the back and adjust the output there I have not been able to locate this.
Still, it gives me coverage for much of my yard and I have it connected to an output of my stereo amplifier. Anything I run through the amp can be fed through the transmitter. I also purchased a pair of remote extenders. While I am so far unable to remember or figure out how to use the remote for the amplifier, the remote for my 200 disk CD changer works admirably so I can select any one of those and any track remotely. I don't know what range that has, I only use it between by little gym room in the basement and the stereo in the living room. I bought a book shelf style stereo off of e-bay for down there and have recently added a Creative Labs computer speaker system with powered sub woofer which became surplus to my other requirements to it to help rock my world when I go down there to work out. Sadly, that hasn't been much recently. Cordless speakers are another solution as mentioned before by others but I rather like to be able to take a boom box or something else outside while working or shoveling snow in the winter. I may switch the Sirius satellite through it sometimes since we don't have much good rocken FM radio up here. Last Christmas they had an AC DC channel which motivated me to throw a load of snow around to but sadly they took it away. ----- Original Message ----- From: Agent086b To: Handyman Sent: Saturday, November 28, 2009 12:30 AM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Music in my shed Hi all, not sure if this will be considered handyman stuff or not. I wish to set up a set of speakers in my shed so as I can listen to music when working on my projects. I am not able to run wires underground as I must go under a large area of concrete. I could run a conduit from the house to the shed several meters up in the air. My wife would not be to keen on this idea. Is it possible to find some sort of fm or similar transmitter to transmit from my computer to a radio frequency that I could tune in on my radio in the shed? I could then put a CD on the computer and listen to my heart's content. Thanks for any help on this one. Max. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
