Jennifer, See what the insurance company offers. Do not immediately accept that amount. Check to see what similar cars sold for. In other words, look at the year, condition, etc. and get pricing from wholesale to retail. My wife was in an accident over 15 years ago and the insurance company tried offering us considerably less than what the vehicle was worth. I got my numbers and twisted their arm into giving me a fair price for the totaled car. Knowledge is power.
