Aloha everyone,

My yard is coming along. Got the irrigation system in on one side
with four heads that pop up when the water goes on. Had three tons of
soil delivered a while back. The first weekend in March had the
interlocking pavers delivered for my path from the front of the house
to the sidewalk by steps that go to the lanai (deck.) The path is in
and will start this upcoming weekend constructing the path on the
other side of the front porch area. The grass seed was planted this
past weekend on the side of the house where the path is finished. The
irrigation system went on as scheduled. Will let you know more about
the grass I picked which according to the package seems perfect
hmmmm, we shall see.
Talked to the plumber about using PEX which is "cross-linked
polyethylene. It is essentially flexible plastic tubing that is
strong enough, and non-reactive enough, to carry potable water
through your house." Thanks Dan for the info just quoted from your
email a while back. Anyway, Hawaii has a lot of post and peer houses
which mine is. The pipes are exposed under the house in many areas.
The PEX pipe is cost effective enough however rats can and do easily
do bite right through the pipes so it is not recommended for houses
like mine which sit on post and peer foundations. Looks like I will
be going with copper. Have a great day.
Aloha Sheryl
