Oh, I can imagine. One suggestion that should be common sense. Don't let anyone outside on the shoot side when cutting. Maybe you could call this perfect timing. A friend who is sighted was cutting the grass. The mower picked up a small rock and launched it. The local police was driving down the street when a loud crack and a projectile went through their side window. Two cops came out of the car with guns drawn. Ed laughs about it now but at the time having two cops screaming and pointing guns at you is not a pleasant thought.----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Kennedy" <inthes...@att.net> To: <blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 12:14 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Using Lawn mowers
Notice I said before I got married... Ever hear an aluminum can when it gets into the blade? That's all it took. ----- Original Message ----- From: Lenny McHugh To: blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 11:26 AM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Using Lawn mowers Now, if you really do not want that chore, make the same mistake as I did. Many years ago I was cutting the yard. Cutting grass or flowers produces the same sound, however the reaction from the boss is much different. I was no longer allowed to cut the grass. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Kennedy" <inthes...@att.net> To: <blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 10:58 AM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Using Lawn mowers I don't know what you mean by safe. I cut my own grass with one for years before I got married. The best way I found was to divide the yard into little squares and finish one and move on to the next square. You'll look like you're dancing because you have to swing a foot around to make sure you didn't miss any grass. ----- Original Message ----- From: Andy Borka To: blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 10:09 AM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Using Lawn mowers Is there a safe way a totally blind person can use lawn mowers?
