hi lenny you don't have to get a new printer if the old one has a parallel port hookup and the new computer is just u s b as they all are now your not up the creek. from amazon i got a cable that lets you plug it into the u s b poart then your printer hooks in to that cable. then i had to do a little configuring but the instructions told me what to do and my hp lazer jet still works fine. jim in minnesota
