I normally run with Master set to 85% on amixer and save this by running alsactl store. The only problem is this change lasts only until the next reboot. Some startup script lowers sound volume on me. The environment I'm in has plenty of ambient noise due to central air among other things so that's my reason for that preference. What else needs to be done to take permanent control of a sound card on slint?
