Can I Change the New Mail Control Beep?

Well, I obviously run pine alot, certainly notice differences in the new mail 
notifications from my laptop as maybe a 500cycle beep, in windows a "ding", and 
a rather suttle maybe 800cycle sound on my Debian desktop. I know windows have 
sound scheems, are their ways of picking a different sound or a config where the 
choices are located?
