Hi Janina, Using Pulse with Jack2 is one way I know of to get speech working with Jack. I use this setup often when I’m editing Super Collider code etc, hence why I suggested it. Basicly Pulse becomes a Jack client like any other, and you can have all your speech programs outputting to Pulse, but Pulse’s sound core is bypassed and the sound is redirected to Jack instead. The pulse Jack plugin handles releasing the soundcard, enabling Jack2 to have exclusive access to it.
