1. Discussing the way forward regarding the use of REST.
A). Do we want to take it beyond the use of ACH?
- Think it's a good idea but not beyond SIP.
B). Distinction with the UA configuration framework.
- Need to makee the distinction.
- May be used to configure the service index file (which may
indicate available setting on the proxy) but that's where UA
configuration framework stops.
- UA config-fw is there to configure the UA, ACH is there to
configure the treatment of the call at the proxy.
C). How complex do we foresee this thing to get.
- Depends on what we need to put in the configuration profile.
- Few things we need to clarify
- How complex does it need to do to configure the basic things.
- How complex does it need to be to cover vendor specific config
components.
- Suggestion to write down the requirements were made.
- Do we need to modify the element?
> Probably don't want to go there. There is XCAP for this kind of
things.
- After coming up with the requirements. Compare REST and XCAP
for tackling the requirements to see if REST is any easier.
- It must be easy to get the semantics of what REST is made to
do simply from reading the document.
- Will poll the list for the use-cases where basic configuration that
are
common on the proxy is desirable using mechanism such as this.
TODO: Theo will compose a mail polling the list.
D). Documentation
- Probably not a part of the analysis document.
- Will need another document.
