Definitely useful, but I feel it belongs to a different enhancement
proposal. BEP-4 is already complex enough.

I agree that it should be separated out. Enhancements that end up with
display on a ticket/wiki page/resource are almost completely separable
and could be applied without BEP-4 being implemented.
