To see if there's a CD in the drive:
# mkdir /mnt/cdrom
# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

Then see if there's anything there.


If so, the most likely options are:
1. The datacenter wiped your server by leaving a CD in the drive.
2. The datacenter connected KVM to the wrong server. Maybe you have a 
blank server?  I hope?

In any event, hopefully you have a backup.

If it was at our datacenter, we ensure that installation CDs are always 
removed after an installation unless a customer specifically requested 
that we do otherwise.   A little (and stupid) mistake like that can cost 
a customer all of their data!   (Fortunately, the vast majority of our 
customers also subscribe to backups!)
