Mac,

I am running BX on two dell 1850's, one with 4 gig of ram (5106R) and one with 7 gig of Ram (5108R)

The machines only cost me ~ $350 each and I am very very happy at this point.

I don't even feel the need to go with a more powerful machine.... yet that is...

I'm sure on e of these days they will both start to slow down and I will need to upgrade but for now the 1850's have plenty of power.

My next move will be to buy hardware that can deal with virtualization which I am guessing would take it's toll on my current hardware?

All that being said....... I defer to the real pros. on this list. Michael, Chris, and Gerald

I also have test BX box in my basement.
Below is a snip from the GUI showing the hardware setup.

As you can see you don't need much to make it run.

Hi All...
What is the minimum & ideal PC specification ?
To try it out: I've just tried to install: BlueOnyx-5107R-CentOS-6.3-20120903.iso
...onto my old but little used PC...
Processor: P3 - 555Mhz
HDD: 15GB
Ram: 256MB Dim (max)
I'm new to Servers, so I was not sure which option to choose from the install menu,
so I selected the option for HDD less than 20GB
But it then said it couldn't install because there was insufficient Ram.
It would have helped and saved a lot of time, if this basic info had been on your website.
Thanks Mac
