To elaborate on the answer below, Dreamweaver can distort the layout of your page. The code/design view is especially bad and some versions of Dreamweaver are better than others (so I hear).
If you save the code and then open it in a browser it should be OK. I have used Dreamweaver (when forced to) as a text editor and it does work. It is especially nice for pasting in word tables and creating a decent html table (that is almost usable).
