I have not tried to run Blur in windows.  The only dependence that I can
think of that would hold you back is Hadoop.  However if you are running
Blur on a single machine you don't have to have HDFS installed and running.
 You could create a table referencing your local hard drive
file:///some/local/path.  The biggest issue is going to be the lack of
start and stop scripts.
