Is it two other members voting in support or three? Nominations are open email: Hello David Redordon - SixApart,
The OpenID Foundation is holding its first community board member elections later this year and the first step is getting a great slate of candidates. The OpenID Foundation board is made up of both individuals elected by the membership and corporate board members who pay an annual fee. Nominations for this election are currently open and must be completed by November 20th, 2008. Please visit the Member Center at http://openid.net:3010/foundation/members/elections/ to cast votes in support of a nominee as each needs two votes to become an actual candidate in the election. If you wish to run as a candidate, please visit the Member Center at http://openid.net:3010/foundation/members/elections/ and fill out your own nomination. You'll need to have at least two other members of the Foundation support your nomination to become a candidate. As a reminder, please cast your votes of support or nominate yourself before November 20, 2008. The OpenID associated with your membership is http://www.davidrecordon.com/ . Thank you for your participation and continued help in making OpenID successful! --- The OpenID Foundation http://openid.net/foundation/ http://openid.net:3010/foundation/members/: Benefits of Individual Membership * Vote to elect the Foundation's community board members which make up over half of the board * Vote to finalize new OpenID technology specifications * Show your support for OpenID as a community-driven technology for the Internet Benefits of Organizational Membership * Vote to elect the Foundation's community board members * Vote to finalize new OpenID technology specifications * Be eligible for inclusion in OpenID Foundation press releases and industry events * Show your support for OpenID as a community-driven technology for the Internet * Have an opportunity to meet, exchange views, collaborate with peer organizations in innovative, open source efforts http://openid.net:3010/foundation/members/elections/4 Board Member Election for November 2008 -> Community Board Member Election for November 2008 I'd just remove: "This election is running and nominations are being gathered. Nominate yourself if you think you’d make a great board member and make sure to second nominees already running in the election." and the "Details" heading I'd move the "Nominees and Seconds" above the area to nominate yourself. I'd change "I second this nominee" to "I support this nominee" Change: Running for the board is easy. fill out the candidacy statement below to get yourself on the nominees list. If you meet the eligibility requirements and three other members second you nomination, you’ll be listed as a candidate on the ballot. While running for the board is easy, there are some serious responsibilities for board member — please review them before proceeding. Once you submit your candidacy statement, you won’t be able to edit it. We did this so that the statements would remain consistent throughout the election process, so take a few minutes to compose your thoughts before you hit the ‘Nominate yourself’ button. Please keep in mind that there are certain eligibility requirements (link this?) to serving as a board member and that while writing a short statement might be easy, there are some serious responsibilities in being a board member. Once you submit your candidacy statement you won’t be able to edit it, so take a few minutes to compose your thoughts before you hit the ‘Nominate yourself’ button. Do we limit the length of the statements? Should we? Is it just plain text? Why are company affiliations showing up next to a nominee's name? "Number of seconds " to "Number of supporting votes" Cool? Cool! Thanks, --David _______________________________________________ board mailing list [email protected] http://openid.net/mailman/listinfo/board
