Johannes: you continually harp on financial aspects of the Foundation -- and you are a lone voice amongst board members.
That is another thing that really worries me.
Besides the fact that you did not receive your make-work-project financials, have I failed or been incompetent in the role as Treasurer?
I think we have several failures here somewhere, and I much rather not assign blame to any individual or group of individuals -- other than to us as the past board (me included) in not effectively living up to our duties. At least what I believe our duties are, to the membership and legally. (You and I and perhaps others on the board seem to disagree on what those duties are, but this is likely not the time and place to argue about it.)
What's important to me at this juncture is to communicate to the membership where we are, which I think we collectively managed to do on this thread. The membership can draw its conclusions, or ask more questions, as they have, and act accordingly.
What I didn't get, though, is a clear statement whether or not year- end financials will be the responsibility of the current officers or the next ones. The point would be moot if it was the same set of officers, but we won't know until January I presume (new board, new officer elections), and I would like to have a definitive statement before this election is over.
Thanks, Johannes. Johannes Ernst NetMesh Inc.
