I totally agree.  We need the ability to more closely control the way BOINC
behaves.  The most desired BOINC feature for most power users is the ability
to more finely control the application.  In addition to what you suggest:
ability to specify WU limits / cache size by project, ability  to set a
backup project that DLs one WU at a time as needed and processor affinity
are a few of the enhancements most often requested.
