I don't know if this is related: after I updated to use the latest trunk I am
seen that when I add a new app version and call bin\update_versions the new app
version is not downloaded to the clients until I re-start the BOINC project.
Looking at the code I see that in the old update_version there was code to
"touch" a file to trigger the feeder to re-load the db. I don't see this code in
the new update_version script (but that script changed a lot due to the new
version.xml so I may be missing something).

Each version should be getting a different name (version number as part of
the application name).

I've lost this log, but AFAIU scheduler reported to the client some cached
old
version though there was a new one. Can that be?
