From the POGS outreach folks - who deal with the users more than me

Hi David and all, thanks for the opportunity to have a look.

My thoughts:

Jacob’s proposal is very clear and in my opinion superior to the other example
above, I think it’s a good change to make. On the whole I think negatively
expressing preferences is clearer and easier to deal with than expressing them
positively.

To add to the discussion at the bottom of the page - what about ‘Processing
Preferences’ instead of ‘Computing Preferences'? I think to a layperson
processing is the term more commonly used (rather than ‘computing’ - I think to
lay audiences computing means the things you do with the mouse and keyboard
when you’re using a computer!) Plus the alliteration of processing preferences
flows nicely ;)

All the best,
Kirsten

Regards
Kevin

Currently, computing preferences are expressed differently
in the GUI than on the web, leading to user confusion.
We'd like to express them the same way in both places.
A proposal for doing this is here:

If you have time, please review the proposal and comment
(either to me individually, or to the email list).
