Thinking about it, and with reference to this post:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77746
I do see this occasionally, when my Samsung S5 mini on Android 4.4.2 is
crunching at work,
and finishes a Wu, when it can't upload (because there is no 3G connectivity),
Boinc Manager looses it connection with the client, and the client stops
crunching,
attempting to start the Manager just gets the splash screen,
If I disable connectivity by selecting flight mode, Boinc Manager can connect
to the client,
and it starts crunching again.

Of course!
I would have specified it otherwise. :)
Yes, I only install the latest version from the Google Play store -
for safety. :-)
I go to my charger-place now .... to see the version.......... got it.
: Yes, it really is 7.4.41

Forwarding on joshaay's email.
I assume it was Boinc 7.4.41, and it was from the Google Play store.

I just downloaded this app yesterday so it is the latest version, and it
stopped working after two times of opening the app. Then every time I opened
it, it was stuck on the splash screen. I will note however, restarting my
tablet did temporary fix this issue, I have yet to have the same problem I had
before. Today is the second day I've had it.
