45-member Inter squad for Bahrain
A 45-member Inter Milan delegation will be coming for its friendly match
against Bahrain on January 6 at the National Stadium in Riffa.
The delegation, which arrives on January 2, consists of 30 players,
including top stars such as defenders Ivan Cordoba, Marco Materazzi, Javier
Zanetti, midfielder Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo and strikers Hernan Crespo and
Zlatan Ibrahimovitch.
This match will be held to mark the Bahrain Football Association's (BFA)
50th anniversary and is part of the Bahrain team's preparations for the
upcoming 18th Gulf Cup scheduled from January 17 to 30 in the UAE.
The Italian Seria A leaders will be received on arrival by BFA president
Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and other senior officials from the
General Organisation for Youth and Sports, the BFA and the Italian Embassy.
Shaikh Salman said media officials from various Italian TV and radio
stations as well as news agencies are expected to be among the visiting
delegation.
"We are planning to invite several GCC soccer stars to play against Inter
Milan because we are keen to involve other players from the Gulf in this
prestigious event," said Shaikh Salman.
"At the moment negotiations are on with a number of Arab TV stations to
broadcast this match," he said.
"We will also host a dinner banquet on January 4 for the visiting delegation
which will be attended by top national and sports officials," said the BFA
chief.
Tickets are priced at BD4 and BD2 which can be purchased from a
specially-designed website www.bahraintickets.com. Shaikh Salman said buying
the tickets from this website will make it easy for GCC citizens interested
in attending the game.
