G-14 represents the collective views and policies of eighteen of the most
significant contributors to the quality and success of European club
competitions.
G-14 clubs also supply many national teams with their most significant
players. This gives G-14 a legitimate and powerful voice on the issues
facing the development of international club football.
Since its creation, G-14 has worked on many issues and achieved major
progress in a number of areas.

The way of excellence:

The eighteen member clubs represent the heart of European Club Football when
it comes to the key issues of European competitions, transfer dealings and
commercial considerations.

The Clubs belonging to G-14 represent the club football world in its widest
variety and are concerned with important rulings and negotiations on:
EC employment legislation
sponsorship and TV rights
intellectual copyright
format and management of club and national team competitions.

That is to say they must be part of each and every consultation in all the
social, competitive, marketing, and financial contexts of our today's
reality world which may influence or even modify the daily management of
football.

The power of experience:

The collective achievements, experience, financial weight and influence of
the principal European Football Clubs deserve to be heard.
Being at the sharp end of the club game at the highest level, the clubs want
to share their views and collective experience where it counts: in the
European Institutions, in the political arena, and with the relevant
football governing bodies.

Globally speaking, G-14 wants to make its voice heard because, as the
historical structures of football do not directly involve the clubs,
important decisions are made that, ultimately, the clubs must implement and
manage.

The legitimacy of the professionals:

Given their experience on both historical and competitive levels, the G-14
clubs undoubtedly represent club football in its most efficient,
professional, spectacular and accomplished configuration.

As major employers, businesses, brands, cultural and social focal points,
the eighteen members of this pioneering structure (football clubs grouped at
international level), have a formal duty: i.e. to provide a different
perspective and viewpoint, which will, in the long run, benefit not only
themselves, but also football as a whole.

Football has historically based its managing structures on associations and
nationwide levels of responsibilities. Together with the growing importance
and impact of the club competitions (on both domestic and international
scenes), the effective weight of the clubs on the daily running of football
has also increased radically.

Hence it has become crucial that a legitimate and authoritative structure
made up of club professionals should take its place among the bodies
governing the football world.

The synergy of skills:

The founding members came to the agreement that the goal of the grouping
was: to create, develop and implement synergies, using the platform they
have built to share all sorts of experience and expertise provided it does
not go beyond the natural limit inherent to competition and sporting
rivalry.

The G-14 clubs set out to pool their knowledge in order to build on
individual club achievements. Each member club has something to contribute,
and something to benefit from, by being part of G-14. Before the creation of
G-14, no such platform existed: G-14 is the voice of the clubs.
