SINGAPORE RETAINS CROWN BANGKOK (Feb 4, 2007) - Singapore made sure that
the Asean Football Championship crown is kept in the island republic for the
next two years when they beat Thailan 3-2 on aggregate.

The score at the end of the second leg, final here tonight at the Stadium
Supachalasai in Bangkok was 1-1 which was enough to give the defending
champions their second title in two editions following their slim 2-1 win in
the first leg.

And tonight, in spite of them trailing by a goal when Pipat Thonkanya gave
the homesters the lead in the 36th minute, young Khairul Amri was on target
six minutes to the end for the victory.
