Here is the Spending Leage from the start of the Premier League.... As can clearly be seen, if we take into account the cash spent on new players, minus the cash gained from the sale of players, Chelsea have lost the most, as would be expected. Next is Liverpool who have lost £202,445,000......then we have United who have lost £200,585,000......but wait......let's add in the £80,000,000 for Cristiano Ronaldo. So now United have lost £120,585,000. Even without the sale of Ronaldo though, United have done better in the transfer market over the Premier League years. Then we have the table to solve the argument between Fergie and Rafa. The net spend from 2004 when Rafa took charge at Anfailed.....to 2009. Rafa seems to have lost a total of £110,460,000 whereas Fergie has lost a total of £93,400,000. Take into account Ronaldo's sale and it looks pretty good for fergie, losing only £13,400,000 in transfers. Nice one Rafa.
