These are the steps that I used to add Google's free analytics to my Boltwire sites.
Preliminary: Must have an account on Google ie gmail, etc. Enable Analytics using this url: http://www.google.com/analytics and logging in using your google username and password. Setup Google Analytics javascript for your website. 1. After logging into Google Analytics, Click on "Add Website Profile" If you don't see that option, click on "Analytics Settings" in the upper left hand corner. 2. Enter your website's URL in the field provided. 3. Select your country and Time Zone. 4. Click on Finish at the bottom of Page. 5. The next page will provide you with a box containing the javascript you will need to add to your boltwire website. Highlight and copy the entire content of the box. 6. Click on Finish underneath the box. 7. Goto your boltwire website and login as the admin or user with admin rights. 8. Create a new embedded page such as code.embed.analytics 9. Paste the content copied from the Google Analytic javascript box into this page and save it. 10. Click on the "site" link and under Zone, click on the "Bottom link". 11. In this box, under the last line of text add, <embed analytics> assuming that in step 8, you created code.embed.analytics. 12. Save the "Bottom" page At this point you can check to make sure everything worked by going back to http://google.com/analytics and under Analytic Settings, at the end your boltwire website line, click on "Check Status" It should say Tracking Status: Waiting for Data If it says Tracking Not Installed then I would once again highlight the text in the javascript box and paste it again into the code.embed.analytics page you created in step 8. If anyone has any problems with the instructions I put here please let me know. If at some time these instructions get added to the boltwire.com website, I would be more than happy to include small screen shots to make following the instructions easier.
