I learned that htaccess problems are the same for one hoster, no matter if you use wordpress, joomla or another system.
I found my solution (that QSA thing) in a user forum after googling for "htaccess" or "symlinks" and the name of my hoster. If it works for another system it likely will work for boltwire too.
