I just release 3.09 which is largely a maintenance release, with the
following fixes:

* Fixed a bug where the escape tag sequence is inserted into a page.
* Fixed bug in external links using normal html markup.
* Fixed utf bug in form inputs.
* Restructured BOLTsort function to fix a few bugs and clean up error
messages when no matches found.
* A revised patch to the checkbox/radio checked parameter code.
* Fixed minor bug in log function when target not specified.
* Removed data, getline, and thread functions from the core to
solution pages (in the system section).
* Dropped wikiwords markup rule from core, but created a solutions
page discussing this feature (in the links section).

The three deleted functions are not used anywhere in the code base or
system actions. BoltWire philosoph #2 seems to suggest these should
go. If you happen to be using them somewhere, install the plugin.

I decided to not drop wiki-words from the core, because there is no
easy way to get this effect without flags at certain points in the
code processing. I did delete the wikiwords markup rule however, and
create a solution page to explain this feature a bit better:
http://boltwire.com/index.php?p=solutions.links.wikiwords. I'm
inclined still to comment out the remaining lines and then give
instructions on how to uncomment them--but that would not be a great
option--as you would have to redo that for every upgrade. Pain. So
maybe we'll just keep as it is.

No changes to the counter/math possibilities until I come up with a
solutions for how to handle this... I still have some ideas for
improving a few of our existing markup rules, in our never ending
quest for perfection, but decided to wait till another time before
tackling those. All is running quite well on my site, so I'm in no
hurry to "fix what ain't broken" as they say.

Cheers,
Dan
