Sorry. The docs need to be updated. It turned out to be much more efficient for various functions to not have to store the lastmodified time as a data field, but rather extract it from the server directly. Use this syntax:
[(lastmodified)] Optional parameters are page (defaults to current page), and fmt (taps into strftime) and dir for files outside the pages location. There are also custom subroutines in the search algorithms to handling this kind of thing. I just updated the docs page. Sorry for the confusion. That was changed some long while ago.
