It's not the function. Normal breadcrumb on a page generates one output for me.

Can you tell me what page you are viewing?  If it is at the very top
of the page, it may have something to do with the header. In the last
release I deleted the site.header to allow use of the default header
page. But I also changed the conditional in it a bit because I thought
it was wrong:

Now: [if ! equal {p0} 1 && equal '{action}' '' && ! equal {p1} action]
Was: [if ! equal {p0} 1 && ! equal '{action}' '' && ! equal {p1} action]

But looking at it more it still seems the ! should be out.  Does this
help at all?
