I think using info-mining is just as fast or faster than a
database--and easier to use, but it is a very specific, single-focus
solution. If you are going to be treating multiple data values on lots
of files and retrieving/reporting that data in multiple ways,
maintaining multiple info lists would be onerous. On the other hand if
you just need this one functionality, I'd definitely go with a single,
simple flat file. Your speed will be plenty impressive.

As for synching--if you use the info file solution, you probably have
no need for the local data variable. Just use the info value fully,
once you have it mined.
