Just released an experimental plugin you might like to try.

http://www.boltwire.com/index.php?p=solutions.system.pluginchecker

This script downloads a list of all the plugins currently on the
BoltWire server and the time they were last modified. Then, it checks
the last modified time of the plugins in your farm plugin folder.
Finally, it generates a report showing which plugins need to be
updated, which ones are probably current, and which plugins no
information can be found for. It checks for both php and backup files,
but not zip files.

Give it a try and let me know what you think. If you have suggestions
for improving it, let me know.

Cheers,
Dan

P.S. Thanks Markus for reminding me of this... It was fun to throw it together!
