Good find. It is action.data that is broken. Maybe passdata?
If you use a simple form data fields are saved.
Savedata Test
Current Fields: {data}
[form][submit]
[text test1 "test1"]
[text test2 "test2"]
[text test3 "test3"]
[text test4 "test4"]
[command savedata test1,test2,test3,test4]
[form]
