So,

Apropos the discussions about web bits, Alex & I agreed to have a
meeting about the planning for the web stuff. Apologies for the somewhat
short notice, but the time and date are 2nd February 10h UTC on
irc.oftc.net in #bongo.

The agenda I have is this (modulo any requests people make):

   1. Re-statement of scope. While we have stuff in the plans that we
really want to do (e.g., interface for mobile devices), I mostly
want to ignore the stuff which isn't 1.0 release critical.
   2. Re-statement of goals - the problems we need to address (I suspect
we all mostly agree on this already)
   3. Agreement on a final 1.0 feature list. This doesn't have to be
exhaustive, but should be the list of features without which we
      cannot release 1.0.
   4. Agreement on technical implementation: how we're going to code
this stuff, which platforms we're going to target, etc.
   5. Agreement of some kind of development schedule.

I think the "beef" is mainly 3 & 4. I don't think we're going to change
much from what has been talked about previously - particularly with
regards the need for a flexible and robust framework - and hopefully a
lot of the stuff on the wiki still holds. But, we need to get it down in
a fair bit more detail.

One thing I'd like to get a bit more input from people in general is
slightly a technical question, but has a bit of bearing on what we want
to do. For the main AJAX-y web mail & calendar UI, whatever we call it,
one of the issues Dragonfly faced was having to be cross-browser
compatible, which mainly meant 'must work on IE6'.

How many people here think not working on IE6 would be a serious problem?

Cheers,

Alex.
