I know what you're thinking; good lord, a release! But yes, it's for real - we're finally on the way to the M3 release, which is now pretty close, just some bugfixing really.
Notes: http://www.bongo-project.org/Releases/0.3.0 Tarball: http://download.gna.org/bongo/release/bongo-0.2.90.tar.bz2 SHA1 sum: 81ec5916b9b714e4beaf48dcc1ab2f6ba5db1d3b The notes are for the final release, which we haven't reached yet, so are unfinished, but hopefully will give some guidance. At the moment, my release plans are roughly this: 0.2.90 - we are here 0.2.91 - Sundial caldav server integrated 0.2.92 - first release candidate >From 0.2.92 onwards (we might have a couple of RCs if we find good enough bugs), the M3 release could happen at any time. I don't see us taking much more than a week between each release. I'm going to work on some upgrade notes this weekend, so if you're looking to upgrade an existing trunk Bongo, hang fire a bit. But please, if you can, install this test release and let me know what bugs you find. You can nominate blocking bugs here: http://www.bongo-project.org/Releases/0.3.0-blockers Do note the Gna! bug ID if it has one. At some point around 0.2.91, I'll accept a final list of blockers, and whatever doesn't make that list will end up getting deferred. There are likely to be some obvious bugs in M3, particularly in the web UI. The Hawkeye admin UI will get some good attention before M3; the webmail UI won't get as much. For M3 I'm also hoping that we will have a pretty decent rPath appliance ready. Lance Haig has been leading the charge on this, being ably assisted by Stu Gott at rPath, who has been amazing. This will mean that downloadable virtual machines and appliances will be a-plenty for every occasion, including a Live CD I believe. I'm intending that from M3 onwards, we'll have a lot more of a upgrade system in place, much more regular releases, and a lot more stability. Here's hoping, anyway :) Cheers, Alex. _______________________________________________ Bongo-users mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/bongo-users
