Hi Jent, Yes, when the site is busy/slow it is very frustrating. However, you mentioned that you enjoyed walking back past and seeing people being excited about finding your book - by tracking it through BookCrossing, you find out more about where the book has gone and whose lives it has touched - it tells you about the excitement when you haven't seen it (not in all cases, but in some). I also use the site to share books with other BookCrossers, sharing opinions of the books and occasionally trading/picking up book recommendations, as well as meeting with other Bookcrossers locally. People use bookcrossing in different ways, you're not the first person I've heard from who releases books without registering or using the site, but personally I find that it adds to the experience for me. Hope that explains it a little for you, Amanda www.bookcrossing.com/friend/puppymummy
I've got a question for you: why do you bother going through all the stuff for Bookcrossing, instead of just setting your books out free alone?
