June saw me finish just 3 books. Still knitting.........
1. Things We Do For Love by Kristin Hannah (Audio)
2. 4th of July by James Patterson
3. Comfort and Joy by Kristin Hannah (audio)
Currently reading Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. Can't believe I'm 45 and never
read the story. Quite a bit of violence in it for it to be a children's story.
I just picked up from the library the audio book The Undomestic Goddess by
Sophie Kinsella.

Still a quiet month as far as reading goes....
Here's what I managed to read....I shouldn't complain about the lack of
quantity as the books I did read were really good and none have made my
wallbanger lost cause list.
Watermelon by Marian Keyes - 9/10* - I can't believe how long I waited
before reading this book! I absolutely loved this story! The characters are
engaging and easy to relate to and empathize with. Claire is a woman who is
a survivor. After giving birth to her daughter, her bastard of a husband
tells her he is in love with someone else and is leaving her. Claire manages
to pick up the pieces of her life and begin to heal with the help of her
family in Dublin and a new love interest. What I found interesting is how
quickly Claire's husband, James, tries to worm his way back into her life
and his complete and utter lack of remorse over what he did. Fortunately, he
doesn't get away with it.
The story has many layers embedded within the main plot that were truly an
entertaining experience to discover. I've long enjoyed the work of this
author and Watermelon further cements Marian Keyes as one of my favorites.
Read it and let me know what you thought!
Match Me If You Can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - 10/10* - Awesome story and
a great revisit with characters from her earlier "Chicago Stars" stories.
This author has a great voice that draws the reader into the story and gives
the reader a sense of personally knowing the characters.
