I offered a bunch of rings and rays a few days ago and had lots of responses, but some of the books could use a few more participants so I'm giving them one more boost here. (For these and the other books I offered, I've posted the names of the participants to date in the journal entries of each book; if you sent a PM and your name is not there, I didn't receive it, so please re-send AND reply to the appropriate forum post (bookrays here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/20/3714709 , bookrings here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/20/3714739 ) with your preferences.)
Bookrays: (# participants) / title and link : participants so far (1) Air Disaster ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/4206290 ): rebeccaljames This is non-fiction, actual case studies of crashes due to design flaws, pilot error, etc. Factual stuff, non-sensational and intriguing. [This book's a softcover but it's on heavy paper and weighs more than a pound, so it would require a post office trip for mailing within the US and could be pricey to send internationally. FYI.] (1) Sunday's Child ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/4233710 ): rebeccaljames This is a great book by a favorite author of mine, Edward O. Phillips. It's a suspense/dark-comedy about a 50-something gay lawyer who has a very tricky problem one New Year's Eve - how to dispose of a body... It's the first of several "Sunday" books, and a great introduction to Geoffry Chadwick. Bookrings: (# participants) / title and link : participants so far (2) Stormy Night ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/3406266 ): mojosmom, rebeccaljames This one's a very unusual book - a young child's musings during a sleepless, stormy night... (2) Two by Two ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/4130637 ): AmaniS, rebeccaljames This is a delightful retelling of Noah's Ark by Barbara Reid, illustrated in her lavish and amazingly-detailed (and often very funny) "clay-painting" technique. A slim book, quick read, and worth a look! (2) Ghost of Silver Cliff ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/4223055 ): RockDg9, rebeccaljames Slim, elegant graphic novel about a very unlikely spook-hunting team in colonial-era Malaysia. (1) Love Junkie ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/3152745 ): rebeccaljames Funny, sarcastic novel; clueless socialite falls for a gay man and finds ways to rationalize the most blatantly obvious evidence - but that's just the setup... -GoryDetails See the books I've set free at: http://bookcrossing.com/referral/GoryDetails Have you told a friend today? http://bookcrossing.com/tellafriend Archives and email list settings: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BookCrossing Yahoo!
