<big smiles>  This is what bookcrossing is all about.  It's fun to get 
involved in rings and rays and trades and OBCZs, but releasing into 
the true wild is, imo, more in keeping with the original spirit.  And 
oh boy even if kids never journal I'm sure you'll make someone's day, 
at least.  I agree RIF is a valuable program, and if we can kinda help 
them out, it's a good thing.
