 G'dday.

Well, the explanation to me, a newbie, of the whole Skyring phenomenon, had
a result. I did a watery release yesterday. I bought some very large
zipolock bags, and put a book in three of them, including increasing amounts
of air in each layer. Then I physically taped the outer one up, and walked
down to the edge of the Pacific ocean and threw the book out. It floated
nicely. Unfortunately, wind-drift drove it onto a seaweed clump where it
promptly stopped moving, but high tide last night would have fixed that.

today I'll be releasing one by the same author (Margaret Drabble, her
surname even sounds watery) off the longest jetty at Long Jetty, into the
heart of Tuggerah Lake, where it is extremely unlikely to get stuck on
seaweek or rocks until it has drifted with the tide or wind for some hours.

Got me thinking about other weird releases.

I'm going to be releasing one tonight, after the council workers go home,
into the cabin of a piece of earthmoving equipment that they're leaving
overnight outside my place until the roadwork around here gets finished. I
seriousl.y doubt they'll discard it - I might rock on by at smoko and see if
I can catch someone out reading on their break.

 Nisaba
